HOYLAKE, England (AP) — Crouching over the ball with his legs wide apart, Christo Lamprecht — all 6-foot-8 (2.03 meters) of him — crunched his last drive of the day into the fairway and more than 350 yards.“Look at the size of him,” was one of the muffled remarks from outside the ropes along the 18th fairway as the 22-year-old South African loped after his ball, his golf pants not long enough to cover his socks.Lamprecht’s first ever round at a British Open was one this amateur, and those watching him, won’t quickly forget. At one stage on Thursday at Royal Liverpool, Lamprecht — a college kid from Georgia Tech — was leading the Open by three strokes. He wound up shooting 5-under 66 and was set to be high on the leaderboard by the end of the first round. So, did that come as a surprise to a hard-to-miss player who was certainly turning heads at Hoylake?“I mean, as an amateur, yes, it is,” said Lamprecht, who was considered among the top college players in the U.S. for the last two yea...Investigación sobre el asalto al Capitolio: se espera testimonio clave de exaliado de Trump

DENVER (KDVR) -- Denver's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is cracking down on parked scooters on sidewalks in the city. Some Denver residents are not able to make it around town simply because of how someone parked their electric scooter. Tom Miller and many other disabled Denver residents are asking people to be more cautious. Getting a ride in an accessible van is difficult, so the majority of the time Miller is using his power chair to get around, and those scooters being parked on the sidewalk have not made that easy. He’s been in a wheelchair and power scooter for quite some time after an infection in his left leg led to an amputation. Now, getting to the clinic that's making his prosthetic is difficult. Scooters parked along his path essentially block his way -- some in the middle of the sidewalk and others leading up to ramps. "I’d like to go through life in Denver without running into obstacles every time I want to go out," Miller said. "I thought, 'why do I ...31-year-old Boris Johnson aide gets plum place in the House of Lords

UConn has settled a lawsuit filed by a former women’s soccer player who lost her scholarship for flashing her middle finger in the direction of a TV camera as the Huskies celebrated winning a conference championship in 2014.The former student athlete, Noriana Radwan, alleged that the gesture amounted to free speech and she was subjected to harsher punishment than male athletes who violated the school’s conduct rules.Under terms of the settlement disclosed in court Wednesday, Radwan will receive just over $46,000 to cover the cost of her student debt at Hofstra, where she transferred after losing her scholarship. Her attorneys will receive $162,500, according to the settlement. The school also has agreed to revise it’s student-athlete handbook to make it clear how long athletes have to appeal the loss of a scholarship.“One of the issues in this case is there was ambiguity as to when she exercised her right to a hearing and UConn claimed she had missed the deadline by a day...Church’s executive pastor gets 18-month prison sentence for stealing $130,000 to pay gambling debts
