The Denver school board will meet Thursday to discuss potential changes to its policy barring armed police in the city’s schools, including a proposal that would allow school resource officers on campuses and another plan that would not. Denver Public Schools’ Board of Education is considering a different approach to school resource officers, or SROs, in response to growing gun violence among teens and the recent shooting of two administrators inside East High School. The board temporarily suspended its 2020 policy prohibiting SROs following the East shooting, but now will consider whether to make permanent changes as Superintendent Alex Marrero works on a new district-wide safety plan. One plan, proposed by board member Scott Baldermann, would allow Marrero to decide when to station police officers inside schools. Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 06:54:41 GMT

Do you “go nuts” for doughnuts? Sure you do. We all do. They’re made from fried dough and sugar. We’d be fools not to be interested. But, mind you, most of us don’t go gaga over just any doughnut. The 2023 list — released ahead of National Doughnut Day on June 2 — includes shops from 27 states and Washington, D.C., though some are more well-represented than others. California, for instance, is home to 10 of the top-rated doughnut shops on Yelp’s list, and virtually dominates the upper rankings with six shops ...

Should they lose Conforto, and the way he was moving Wednesday morning was not promising, the Giants would have their hottest hitter (Conforto) and most valuable position player (Thairo Estrada) both on the shelf.Since May 10, Conforto has homered seven times in 18 games while batting...
